More than a thousand Sisters from twenty-one countries have participated in AACSS conferences in order to learn more about the social and medical factors of the HIV and AIDS pandemic. They discussed what women religious could offer to people living amid the pandemic and reflected upon how they could develop a response based on their faith. As a result, Sisters throughout the sub-Sahara have developed and are implementing concrete action plans in order to effectively educate their communities and to focus their ministries in response to the HIV and AIDS pandemic. |
